CopyBet has sought to accelerate its UK growth strategy, having made a market entry in the country just two years ago, by shoring up its horse racing offering with PA Betting Services (PABS).
The company’s agreement with the B2B supplier will see it debut as a provider of betting on UK horse racing, offering a mix of British racecards, race-day fixed odds and results.
PABS will power this new product with its racing distribution platform, expanding CopyBet’s sportsbook offering from the ‘range of sports betting markets’ – such as football – it has been offering since launching in the UK in H2 of 2021.
Anton Ivanov, Director of Business Development at CopyBet, said: “According to GamblingCommission figures, thoroughbred racing accounts for about one-third of all online sports wagering in the UK, so it was an obvious move for us to begin offering the sport to our player base.
“PABS’ broad range of content, coupled with its flexible commercial approach, enabled us to feel completely confident about our horse racing launch. Its flexibility and existing integrations with our technology providers made it the perfect choice for the supply of racing to our brand. We are now also looking to launch greyhound racing at a later date.”
CopyBet’s existing offering has focused heavily on, as aforementioned, its sports betting proposition, but also on a tipster offering that allows players to automatically copy the wagers made by tipsters.
However, making its mark on horse racing has become an objective for the firm of late. CopyBet notably partnered with Jonathan Burke as its first racing brand ambassador last month, seeking greater visibility in the space.
Meanwhile, for PABS, the agreement follows a series of deals with a plethora of UK bookmakers, most recently newcomer brand midnite but also high-profile names Flutter Entertainment and William Hill.
