Greece’s Sokratis Linaris has become the latest bracelet winner to emerge from the ongoing World Series of Poker Europe festival at Kings Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic. Linaris claimed his first WSOP bracelet on Saturday in Event #3 of the 15-event series, €1,350 NLH Mini Main Event.
The triumph was worth €310,350 (about US $327,927), and was by far the largest cash of Linaris’s career to date. Linaris topped a large 1,729-entry field in the tourney, where 1,304 players added in an additional 425 re-entries to create a €1,971,060 prize pool, with Linaris leading the top 260 players who made the money.
Linaris over takes Norway’s Lehmann for win
Saturday’s eight-player finale found Linares beginning the day in third place, trailing leader Daniel Lehmann, while Event #2 winner and 2022 WSOPE Main Event champion Omar Eljach was also in the hunt.
Eljach’s try at becoming a 2023 WSOPE double bracelet ran aground when he busted in fourth position to Lehmann, netting a €103,350 payout, while France’s Jamel Ghizaoui exited in third place soon after, in a hand against Linaris, earning €136,750.
Linaris and Lehmann began their heads-up duel about even in chips, but Linaris soon finished off his Norwegia foe when Lehmann bluffed all-in into Linaris’ nut flush. Lehmann’s bustout left him with the event’s €183,850 runner-up payday.
The final-table finishers in WSOP Europe Event #3, €1,350 NLH Mini Main Event, were as follows:
