The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has released its latest monthly revenue report revealing that the state’s casinos reported combined revenues of $1.27 billion during the month of September.
September marks 31st billion-dollar month in a row
According to the report, combined revenues generated by casinos during the month mark an increase of 1.69% year-on-year and a 5.8% increase on the $1.2 billion reported during August. The latest total was also 20% higher than the same month in 2019 before the global pandemic. This means that the state has now reported more than a billion dollars in revenue for the 31st month in a row.
Revenues on the Strip came to $741.2 million, an increase of 6.94% on the same period in 2022 and 11.1% on the $666.8 million reported in the previous month.
According to the report, slots revenue dropped by 5.12% year-on-year while table gaming increased by 16.64%. This was driven primarily by a 26.6% increase in table gaming revenue on the Strip and a significant 87.8% increase in baccarat revenues across the same period.
Gaming revenues for the first nine months of 2023 is up 2.9% year-on-year putting the state on track to beat last year’s record revenue total of $14.8 billion for the calendar year. Strip revenue is up by 5.5% for the same period while Clark County revenues are up by 3.61%.
Taxes collect during the reporting period came to $77.6 million marking a decrease of 3.6% year-on-year. This brings the total taxes collected for the year to $333.4 million, up by 1.13% compared to the same period in the previous year.
Sports betting
Nevada sports betting operators reported $62.3 million in revenue during September, representing a drop of almost 12% compared to September 2022. However, this was the third highest revenue figure in the post-PASPA era and a 244.2% increase over the previous month. Overall wagers grew from $431.3 million in August to $811.3 million in September.
Bets placed through mobile apps and online sportsbooks accounted for 66.4% of all sports wagers during the month.
