Rivalry Corp. has launched Rivalry Ultimate Fan, a free-to-play daily fantasy sports app for the upcoming 2023-24 NBA season. The leading sportsbook and igaming operator collaborated with Low6, a prominent gamification innovator, to introduce this product.
Rivalry Ultimate Fan leverages the growing popularity of trading card culture, collectibles, and pack openings. Users can open digital card packs featuring NBA players, construct line-ups, and participate in weekly contests throughout the season.
Prizes include NBA merchandise, gift cards, and promotions on Rivalry’s sportsbook and casino, which have been accepting crypto payments since 2020.
Furthermore, Rivalry plans to release physical Booster Packs containing custom-illustrated trading cards of NBA players, as well as original content.
Notably, these packs may contain a rare holographic card named “The Big Baller,” offering the chance to win two tickets to the 2024 NBA Finals.
In addition, Rivalry will collaborate with creator partners to livestream Ultimate Fan pack openings, connecting with audiences throughout the season.
Beyond the digital realm, Rivalry is set to refurbish outdated basketball courts, giving back to local communities. Registered users who have placed bets on basketball games can nominate their local courts for restoration, contributing to the potential discovery of the next NBA star.
Available on both iOS and Android devices, Rivalry Ultimate Fan will initially be accessible in a subset of the company’s Isle of Man-licensed markets.
The company plans to explore opportunities to expand the product and similar free-to-play offerings to additional regions in the future.
Steven Salz, co-founder and CEO of Rivalry, highlighted the significance of expanding into the traditional sports segment, emphasizing the unique betting experience the company offers.
Salz commended Low6 for delivering an innovative free-to-play product that aligns seamlessly with Rivalry’s strategy, aiming to attract a broader audience.
Jamie Mitchell, co-founder and CEO of Low6, commented: “Rivalry’s expertise and understanding of Millennial and Gen Z customers is very much aligned to Low6’s product development.
We are confident our award-winning fantasy game will drive acquisition and engagement for Rivalry among a new audience while maintaining their commitment to innovation and one-of-a-kind experiences in betting.”
